Eldorado Hair Replacement Center in Baltimore is committed to providing quality hair replacement and hair restoration solutions for those suffering from the devastating effects of hair loss, thinning hair, and baldness. And owner Marty Greenblatt is dedicated to making sure his clients receive the finest hair loss solutions in the mid-Atlantic region.

Greenblatt, who purchased Eldorado in 1990, started out as a client several years earlier, so he approaches the business as someone who personally knows about hair loss and the difference the appropriate replacement system can make. He also knows about the concerns a potential client may face.

“I think most resistance to engaging in hair replacement is related to people’s inability to conceive of themselves with more hair,” says Greenblatt. “This is especially true if it’s been a number of years since their hair loss began. They’re afraid a replacement will look too obvious. They may also have concerns about what the potential cost of hair replacement. But it also can simply be a matter of needing more information, of not being fully informed about what is involved and what the result can look like.”

Greenblatt also notes that many clients can really be aided by involving a trusted friend or family member in the decision-making process. “Often, a third party will pick up on something that the client doesn’t notice or can’t articulate,” he says. “Or he or she may simply provide the reassurance that a person may need at this stage.”

Eldorado establishes trust with the first consultation

Greenblatt’s initial consultation includes a brief questionnaire and a face-to-face conversation, during which he tries to ascertain what is causing the hair loss and discusses what the client wants out of hair replacement. He also conducts a scalp and hair analysis using a computer scope for magnification. Throughout, he keeps the conversation relatively light and concentrates on listening more than talking. “I want the prospective client to feel that he or she is in control. When the client does ask a question, I then answer it directly and thoroughly. I have to be very open and thorough in my explanations so that a bond of trust can be established.”

Once Greenblatt has a thorough understanding of a potential client’s situation, he goes through all of the available options. “We offer a full range of non-surgical and surgical services, including transplants, laser therapy, topical solutions, herbal remedies. Basically we offer a one-stop shop for all hair restoration needs. The appropriate solution really depends on the individual person.”

Since its founding in 1968, Eldorado has kept an emphasis on the clients’ needs, which has been key to the company’s success. “One of the benefits of our having been in business so long is that people understand we’re not in this for a quick sale. We want to go through this process with them long term, and the loyalty of our clients -- some of whom have been with us for more than 40 years -- attests to that.”

The company’s client base is about evenly split between men and women. Greenblatt does think that there are often differences between the way men and women approach hair replacement. “Speaking just in general terms, women tend to be more likely to mull it over or to get a second opinion,” he says. “They tend to ask a lot more questions. Men are more basic -- they want assurance the system will stay on, that it won’t look fake, that it will be an improvement to their image. Some are more interested in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of how it’s put together.”

Eldorado is attuned to client needs

Whatever their gender or specific situation, Greenblatt says Eldorado is always honest and upfront and puts the clients’ needs first. “We’re also unusual in that we started out in the manufacturing and wholesale business and also have been on the retail end of it for a very long time. Being the leader in the Mid-Atlantic uniquely positions us to be an authority on hair restoration in a more macrocosmic way.”

First and foremost, Greenblatt wants prospective clients to know that “they can trust us and that we are dedicated to trying to make them happy.” To that end, Eldorado stays up to date by attending all of the major industry meetings to stay abreast of new developments.

“And our staff is extremely qualified,” he adds. “Our junior stylist has 10 years of experience, and our senior has over 40.”

Eldorado’s commitment to quality and client satisfaction explains why it continues to thrive. “If you take care of the customer,” Greenblatt explains, “the business will see to itself. Our success in client retention has been the foundation for our stability and has enhanced our ability to react to changes in customer tastes and manufacturing advances.”
