Hair Loss and "the Arts"

With or without hair loss, learning about "the arts" inspires us to appreciate and create art of our own.

There’s a reason why critics speak about the “seven lively arts” – because an art experience can make a person feel more alive.  Truly inspired art can cause one to look within and begin a process that leads to truth and self-discovery. The “arts” is a pretty broad term; it can encompass, music (rock, rap, jazz, classical, etc.), theatre, dance, painting, acting, sculpting and much more.

Although every artwork needs an appreciative audience to really live and breathe, it still begins with a creator (whether that creator is a writer, performer, painter, or other participant in the creative process).  Those whose ideas issue forth from pates that are notably devoid of hair represent that creative side of the world of art, from Pablo Picasso to Patrick Stewart.

Baldness has been a part of the lives of countless composers (tormented or contented), authors (humorous or indecipherable), dancers (folk or ballet), artists (traditional or conceptual) and singers (crooners or rappers).  In this section, we look at their contributions or at works that feature hair loss in one form or another.

We all are the artists of the masterpiece-in-process that is our lives.  Let us examine how other artists have worked the balding parts of their lives into their masterpieces.
